Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-09-12
These Terms of Service ("these Terms") form the agreement between the user and tarovie.com ("this site") governing use of this site and the services it provides. This site is operated independently by an individual developer.
By starting to use this site, the user confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms in full. A user who does not agree to any part of these Terms must stop using this site.
1. Definitions
In these Terms:
- the Service means the AI tarot reading service and related features provided by this site.
- Account means the credentials a user registers in order to access the Service.
- Inputs means the text a user submits to the Service, including the original wording of their questions and their conversation with the AI reader.
- Outputs means the reading text the Service generates from the Inputs.
- Subscription means the entitlement a user obtains by paying on a recurring basis.
2. The Service
- The Service is an AI tarot reading service. After registering, a user may converse with the AI reader "Soul", shuffle and draw cards, and receive a reading generated by artificial intelligence.
- Free users may take 1 full reading per day. Subscribers may take up to 3 full readings per day. This limit follows Hexagram 4 (Meng) of the I Ching: "The first divination is answered; ask again and again and it becomes profanation; profaned, it gives no answer."
- A user's Inputs are held only in that user's own browser. This site does not upload or store them on its servers.
- Where a user opts in on the share page, this site stores only the Outputs generated by the Service; no text entered by the user is stored.
- The features, interface and availability of the Service may change between versions. The version in use at the time of access governs.
3. Accounts
- One account per person. A user must not register multiple accounts and must not provide, lease or transfer their account to any other person.
- A user must provide true and accurate information on registration. The date of birth provided is used only to calculate the sun sign; gender is optional.
- A user is responsible for safeguarding their credentials. This site is not liable for disclosure, unauthorised use or loss arising from the user's own conduct.
- Where this site identifies abnormal use of an account, it may suspend or terminate the Service for that account.
4. Acceptable use
The user undertakes not to:
- Use automated programs, scripts, crawlers or other technical means to call the site's interfaces, issue bulk requests, or otherwise interfere with the normal operation of the Service;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, crack or otherwise attempt to obtain the source code of this site;
- Resell or bulk-distribute Outputs, or exploit them for any commercial gain;
- Use the Service for any activity that breaches applicable law or infringes the rights of others;
- Impersonate another person, or circumvent by any means the usage limits, payment mechanisms or security measures of this site.
Where a user breaches this clause, this site may suspend or terminate the account immediately, and fees already paid are not refundable.
5. Subscription and automatic renewal
- This site offers a subscription service. The billing period and price are as displayed on the purchase page.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. At the end of each period this site will charge the payment method selected by the user, unless the user cancels before the charge is made.
- A user may cancel automatic renewal at any time in account settings. Following cancellation the subscription will not renew at the end of the current period; amounts already paid for the current period are not refundable.
- This site may adjust subscription prices from time to time. Price changes will be published on this site in advance and will apply from the next billing period.
6. Refunds
- Payments on this site are processed by Creem as Merchant of Record. All payment transactions, billing and refunds are handled by Creem.
- A user seeking a refund must submit the request through Creem's refund channel. Whether a refund is granted, and in what amount, is determined by Creem's refund policy and its actual decision.
- Given the digital nature of the Service and its immediate delivery, consumed readings and completed subscription periods are not refundable.
- Where the Service cannot be provided because of a fault attributable to this site, this site will assist the user in raising the matter with Creem.
7. Beta codes
- A beta code is for one person and may be redeemed only by that person.
- Beta codes may not be transferred, sold or given away.
- Beta codes have no cash value, give no change, and may not be exchanged for cash or goods of any kind.
- This site reserves the right to invalidate beta codes at any time, with prior notice on this site or by email.
8. Intellectual property
- Ownership and operation of this site, and all intellectual property in the site itself (including but not limited to its interface design, program code, copy, prompts and algorithms), belong to the operator of this site.
- A user may freely use Outputs for personal, non-commercial purposes, including saving, sharing and taking screenshots.
- Where a user opts in on the share page to have Outputs saved, this site may use that content within the scope of the user's consent, including to improve service quality and to display examples.
- No part of this site may be used for commercial purposes without the written permission of this site.
9. Nature of the Service and disclaimers
- The Service is provided for entertainment and self-reflection only and does not constitute medical, psychological, legal, financial, investment, career or any other professional advice.
- The Service does not predict life or death, does not diagnose illness, does not make judgements about other people's private lives, and does not give investment advice.
- The Service is not a religious service. It does not promote any religious or occult doctrine, does not perform mediumship, spellwork, fortune-changing or any activity of a supernatural nature, and promises no supernatural effect. The imagery and symbolism of tarot cards serve in this Service only as a medium for conversation and self-reflection; all Outputs are generated by a language model and are not based on any supernatural ability.
- Content generated by artificial intelligence may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or internally inconsistent. This site gives no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness or reliability of any Output.
- Any decision a user makes and any action a user takes on the basis of an Output is the user's sole responsibility.
- The full statement on the nature of the Service is set out in the Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms.
10. Limitation of liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, this site is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Service, including loss of profit, loss of data or damage to goodwill.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of this site under these Terms will not exceed the total amount actually paid by the user to this site in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
- Nothing in this clause excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
11. Changes, suspension and termination of the Service
- This site may modify, suspend or terminate all or part of the Service as its operations require.
- Where a user breaches these Terms, this site may suspend or terminate that user's account and the Service without liability arising from doing so.
- A user may stop using the Service and delete their account at any time. Following deletion, this site removes that user's personal information from its servers, except where retention is required by law.
- Clauses which by their nature are intended to survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, governing law and dispute resolution) remain in effect after the Service ends.
12. Changes to these Terms
- This site may revise these Terms from time to time as the business develops, as the law changes, or as its operations require.
- The revised version will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date at the top will be amended.
- Where a change is significant, this site will notify users by site announcement or email.
- Continued use of the Service after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. A user who does not agree must stop using the Service and delete their account.
13. General
- Severability — if any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
- No waiver — a failure or delay by this site in exercising any right under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.
- Force majeure — this site is not liable where the Service cannot be provided because of force majeure or events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, network outages, third-party service failures or acts of government.
- Assignment — a user may not assign their rights or obligations under these Terms without the written consent of this site. This site may assign its rights and obligations, including in connection with a transfer of the business.
- Notices — notices given by this site to a user's registered email address or by announcement on this site are deemed delivered on the date they are sent.
- Entire agreement — these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between the user and this site in respect of the Service and supersede all prior oral or written arrangements.
14. Governing law and disputes
- The formation, validity, performance, interpretation of these Terms and the resolution of any dispute under them are governed by the law of the People's Republic of China.
- Any dispute arising from these Terms or from use of the Service should first be resolved through friendly negotiation between the parties.
- If negotiation fails, either party may bring proceedings before a competent People's Court in the place where the operator of this site is located.
